Website or just business cards?

Getting started in Jacksonville. Budget's tight. Should I spend $2000 on a professional website or just stick with business cards and LinkedIn for now? Most of my prospects are property managers and facility directors.
I went 2 years with just business cards and a simple one-page PDF case study. Finally built a website last year - hasn't generated a single lead. Save the money and focus on networking and referrals first.
Disagree with Michelle. A simple website gives you credibility. Doesn't need to be fancy. I use Squarespace for $12/month. Include 2-3 case studies and your contact info. That's it.
LinkedIn is your best friend in this business. I've gotten probably 15 clients through LinkedIn connections here in Charleston. Search for facility managers at large companies, send connection requests with a brief note about utility cost reduction.
Website is essential for credibility but doesn't have to be expensive. Use WordPress with a basic theme. Include before/after examples showing actual dollar savings. Hartford area clients want to see proof of results.
Start with the basics - professional business cards, LinkedIn profile, and 2-3 solid case studies. A website helps but focus first on building relationships and getting results for initial clients. Word of mouth beats fancy marketing every time.
