Idaho Power deregulation rumors

Hearing rumors that Idaho might consider electric deregulation. Idaho Power customers asking about third-party suppliers that don't exist yet. Anyone know if there's actual legislation being discussed?
Boise auditor here. Haven't seen any serious legislative movement on deregulation. Idaho Power's rates are reasonable and service is reliable. Not sure there's political appetite for change.
Utah considered it years ago but backed off. Rocky Mountain Power customers generally don't have major complaints. Idaho seems less likely to change given their resource mix.
Washington state has talked about it too but Avista and PSE customers aren't pushing for it. If rates were higher, maybe there'd be more interest.
Spokane perspective - most businesses I audit are satisfied with Avista. Deregulation creates complexity without guaranteed savings. Idaho might be smart to avoid it.
Alabama has stayed regulated and it works fine. Alabama Power customers have predictable rates and good reliability. Not everything needs to be deregulated.
Deregulation works in some markets but isn't automatically beneficial. States considering it should study outcomes in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Ohio carefully. Customer education becomes critical when markets open.
