Insurance and liability for professional auditing work
Get both E&O and general liability. Alabama clients require minimum $1M coverage. Shop around - rates vary significantly.
Phoenix clients want to see professional liability coverage. I carry $2M through AICPA program. Covers consulting errors and omissions.
Kansas clients rarely ask for proof but I carry it anyway. One billing error could cost more than years of premiums.
California requires higher minimums. I carry $3M E&O plus $1M general liability. Expensive but necessary.
Professional liability insurance is essential in this field. One disputed audit finding could result in significant claims. Budget for adequate coverage as part of your professional overhead.
