FPL retail chain - wrong meter multiplier

Chain of small retail stores in Daytona Beach area. One location on FPL has been showing unusually high usage compared to similar stores. Suspected meter issue. FPL found incorrect multiplier - was set at 20x instead of 10x.
Meter multiplier errors are more common than people think. Had one in Tampa where Duke Energy had wrong CT ratio programmed. Client was overbilled $12,000 over 18 months.
Good catch. FPL usually does adjustment billing pretty quickly on meter errors. What was the refund amount?
Still working through it. FPL is reviewing 24 months of billing. Preliminary calculation shows about $8,500 overbilling. Should get final adjustment next month.
Final update: FPL issued credit of $8,847 for 22 months of overbilling. Meter multiplier corrected to proper 10x setting. Case closed.
