Food bank in Louisville on LG&E. Should qualify for Kentucky nonprofit exemption under KRS 139.495 but getting charged sales tax. Filed Form 51A102 six months ago but haven't heard back. Anyone know LG&E's typical processing time?

LG&E nonprofit exemption - Kentucky
LG&E can be slow with exemption processing. Follow up with their tax department directly - sometimes the forms get lost in the shuffle. Food banks definitely qualify in Kentucky.
Similar delay with KU in Lexington. Took 8 months to process our nonprofit exemption. Keep calling every few weeks - squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Finally got approval! 14-month refund of $2,800 plus ongoing exemption. LG&E said they had a backlog of exemption applications but they're caught up now.
