Large church in Memphis getting billed sales tax by MLGW. They have federal 501(c)(3) status but MLGW says they need separate Tennessee exemption certificate. Church thinks their federal status should be enough. What's correct?

Tennessee church exemption - MLGW religious organization question
Tennessee requires separate filing. Form ST-103 for religious organizations. Federal exempt status doesn't automatically carry over to state sales tax.
Makes sense. I'll get the ST-103 filed with MLGW. Thanks for clarifying!
