Client in Roanoke has a manufacturing facility with 3 Appalachian Power meters — one for the main building, one for a separate warehouse, and one for outdoor lighting. All at the same service address under the same customer name. Do I need three separate LOAs or will one covering all three account numbers work?
Do I need a separate LOA for each meter at the same address?
One LOA listing all three account numbers is fine as long as they're all under the same customer name. Appalachian Power treats each meter as a separate account but the customer authorization covers all accounts belonging to that customer. Just make sure you list every account number explicitly on the LOA. I once forgot to include a second meter for a client with Dominion and had to submit a supplemental authorization just for that one meter. Easier to get them all on the first submission.
Phil is correct. One LOA per customer entity covering all their accounts with that utility. List every account number to avoid having to go back for missed meters. This is actually a common finding opportunity — clients often don't realize they have multiple meters at one location, and each meter may be on a different rate schedule. Comparing the rate schedules across meters at the same facility sometimes reveals that one or more are on the wrong rate.
