Working on a commercial account in Cincinnati and seeing a Commercial Activity Tax line item on the Duke Energy bill. Is this something we can get exempted or is it just part of doing business in Ohio? First time working in Ohio so I am not familiar with the CAT.

Ohio CAT tax on utilities — anyone dealt with this?
Franchise fee on top of franchise fee is more common than people think. I see it most on accounts that have changed rate classes without a billing audit. Duke Energy accounts especially.
